How to Define the Genuine and Fake Canon 580 EX II



Chris Petersen-Clausen, vice creative director of a Shanghai company, found that his Canon 580 EX II had problems on HSS. Due to the reason of that he only purchased for two month, he sent it to the local Repair Center. After a series of simple checking, the maintenance staff can’t tell out the problem. Several hours later, the result turn out: it is a fake flash.

Then, how to recognize this one is a fake one?

First, the No of Canon flashes never starts with an alphabet letter, but the left one is starting with A.
 
Second, there is slightly color difference in the flashes glass. Though it may be due to the reason of time, it also an important factor that should keep an eye on.
 
The block glue on the side has obvious flaw, the above one is fake, and there is hardening glue.
  
Besides, if you camera has the function of adjusting external flashes, it is another discriminating conduct.
